  • Roofing: Significant roofing improvements to resolve longstanding leaks and weatherproofing issues

  • Bathrooms & Kitchen: Full replacement of the outdated downstairs bathroom, plus installation of new bathrooms and a new kitchen throughout

RESTORATION WITH INTENTION

When this period cottage came to us, it had fallen into significant disrepair. Rather than starting from scratch, our approach was to strip back carefully — addressing the building's core issues while protecting the features that made it worth restoring in the first place.

The original fireplace and exposed beams were retained and woven into the finished design, grounding the modernised interior in the history of the property.

CHALLENGES

Working within the constraints of a conservation area, Fallon & Co Builders had to ensure that the property's historic essence remained intact while introducing modern technologies and materials. The careful balance of old and new, combined with sustainable practices, made the project both complex and rewarding.

HERITAGE MEETS MODERN SPECIFICATION

Care was taken at every stage to balance the demands of modern living with the charm of a period home. Retained features like the exposed beams and fireplace sit naturally alongside the new kitchen, fresh bathrooms, and updated windows — the result feels cohesive rather than compromised.

RESULT

The finished cottage strikes exactly the balance the project set out to achieve — traditional character and modern comfort, side by side. What was once a neglected property is now a beautifully presented home, complete with a private courtyard garden at its heart.
